Apology & Apologia

All definitions are from Mirriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary

Apology:2: an admission of error or discourtesy accompanied by an expression of regret <a public apology>

Apologia: : a defense especially of one’s opinions, position, or actions

I am not an artist.

Like, AT ALL.

This page is intended to apologize to those whose works I appropriate, and for lack of a better term…deface to use for my own purposes. The apology part is in case anyone ever actually reads this blog, and brings it to their attention, so the original creators know that I’m using their work as a kind of homage, and that I would not use it if I did not so enjoy the original. Also, I want to use this space to give credit where credit is due…I’m not planning on blindly appropriating anyone’s works. The original creators have the right to have people directed to their original works from my crappy derivatives.

The apologia is my justification, and is rooted in my apology. I’m using these works because they, when edited in some cases, just so PERFECTLY communicate my point. The original creators have expressed my feelings better than I ever could.

I will be adding a new post for each instance where I use someone else’s work. Dear original authors, if you have a problem with me using derivations of your work, please just send me an email, and I will TAKE IT DOWN, delete it from my hard drive, and burn my computer. I’ll even kick my cats if it’ll make you happy. Please, don’t get lawyers involved or send a cease and desist. Just send a polite email, and I’ll happily take it down. Hell, even if you aren’t polite, I’ll take it down. I won’t be happy, but I’ll take it down.

And finally, to those who ARE original, and can create art that I cannot, I thank you for sharing your gifts (DAWWWWWW!) Anyway, enough of that sappy crap.
